Infertility in a couple can be caused by problems with one or both partners. 40 percent of cases of infertility in couples are caused by infertility in men and another 40 percent cases are caused by infertility in women. Problems with both male and female partners cause infertility in 10 percent of cases and for the remaining 10 percent an exact cause is not known (unexplained infertility).
